Gallery: New Build
This is a brand new, semi-detached house on an estate. The garden had a narrow path leading from the garage to the back door, where the builder had left a generous 6 pavers! It measures 6.5 x 8 meters and is on a slope.
The clients are a young couple who have travelled extensively. They wanted tranquillity with an Eastern feel, but had no idea how to achieve either faced with such a small space.
We decided to terrace the garden to give an upper seating area, with wide steps leading to the water feature. We made a third terrace, hidden behind the screening to house a water butt and compost heap.
The planting reflects their love of bamboos, ferns and grasses and is interspersed with interesting architectural foliage and perennials to give seasonal interest.
