Gallery: Large Country House
The client purchased this house for its location and built a large extension, to include a swimming pool and conservatory. As he was to employ staff, Jane wanted to restore some of the old Victorian features, particularly in the garden. A kitchen garden was built and a greenhouse and potting shed installed. This should provide the house with produce throughout the year. The garden was split into formal and informal areas and perhaps the most interesting feature was a large lake created in the front garden, using the natural slope of the land.
The garden was featured in a recent episode of 'Midsomer Murders'.
Jane is now working on the design of a ruin in the grounds.
